Dont you need the FP notice to even enter that building, the guard or the cop standing will not even let you in, if you dont have the FP call for notice.
I never heard of walk-ins :)
gcdreamer is right, you need FP notice. But if your question is if you miss your appointment date and then whether you can walk in another day, then answer is yes. I went to FP 2 weeks ago. A lady next to me, had FP notice dated 3 weeks earlier.The office let her get FP done.I personally did not do this.

I applied for H4 to H1 conversion (April'06) and then travelled to India (May'06). I came back on H4 (Jun'06). After one month my H1 was approved which includes a new I 94 valid from Oct'06.
Is this H1's I94 valid..?, as per law USCIS should abandon COS approval if alien travels out of U.S during its process.
Can I start my employment from Oct '06 or do I have to get my H1 stamped.

Hello,
If parents have US Visitor Visa, can they travel to the US on British Airways via London Heathrow airport without any transit visa requirements.
They have a valid visitor visa till 2018.

Hi,
I am on h4 visa now.It expires in Sep14,2011 .I have a company that wants to sponsor my H1 visa.the start date for the h1 visa would be 1st Oct,2011.
Does this mean that i will be out of status for Sep14-Sep30, will i have to file for my h4 renewal for that period.also,would it affect my new h1 petition.
Pls reply

I do not know what category that is because I am not paid either by my sponsor (upenn) or by my own government(India). Now, i wish to get enrolled in a full time MS program of University of Arkansas. Our payroll agency does the same. They do not even provide D-7 to the company because our payroll is incorporated with their other clients so that they can offer lower payroll fees. But they do print our company name in the paystubs. And if a need arises, they can make a copy for the requesting company for quarterly withholding summary.
I guess you can just ask certification from the payroll agency that your paystubs came from your petitioning company. I don't think it will create a problem. USCIS can verify if they want to.

The reason for this post is as usual- too much confusion and no clear answers. i read on oh law firm that if you are not in a non-immigrant status i.e are working on EAD, there should be no gap in your EAD while you are working. Meanin you should stop working if your current EAD expires and your new EAD is pending- otherwise its a violation of law and provisions of 245 do not protect you because technically you are NOT a non-immigrant.
Is that true?????
Now, i recently had to go to India for an emergency, and had to come back on AP- did not have time to get my H1b visa stamped. I asked at the immigration counter if my H1b is invalidated and he told me it is. I spoke to my lawyer and she told me if you resume your H1b employment with the same employer- you are back in status- i kinda did not buy that though.
Can someone please shed light. My concern is that my EAD is expired- new one is pinding. Although i was on h1b when i left for India, but came back using AP. Am i breaking a law by working??

I have received my green card 5 months ago and still working for the same GC filing employer(a consulting company). My wife had an RFE on her GC, since she could not take MMR at 2007 fiasco time. We have recently replied with the evidence. Now my project is getting over at the client site in next couple of weeks. I am sure that I can lose my job at consulting company also.
My question is, what happens to wife's GC? What if there is another RFE and how can I reply it?
